Natalia Turchin, soprano, is originally from the Republic of Moldova and has performed in multiple countries including Romania, Belarus, Poland, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Austria, the Russian Federation, Italy, and the United States.

Natalia began her professional training at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg Conservatory, where she earned a degree in Choral Conducting and began her vocal studies with Nina Nikolaevna Arsentieva after auditioning for the renowned Russian mezzo-soprano and professor Irina Bogacheva. She later continued her opera studies at the University of Music Bucharest under internationally acclaimed Romanian soprano Iulia Isaev, earning first place in both the “Ada Ulubeanu” and “Dan Cumpăta” National Competitions.

Natalia is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in Vocal Performance at the University of Utah, studying with Professor Julie Wright Costa. She previously earned a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Southeastern Louisiana University, where she studied with Dr. Jennifer Mouledous.

Her recent operatic roles include Adele in J. Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus, Alice in Amy Scurria’s A.L.I.C.E., and Elvira in Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri, the latter performed during her Italian debut with La Musica Lirica’s 2022 Summer Opera Program. In concert, she recently performed Philomel by Milton Babbitt and Shéhérazade by Maurice Ravel.

Natalia has participated in masterclasses with Matthew Rose and Austrian soprano and professor Gabriele Lechner, and has collaborated with esteemed international artists including Maestros Joseph Rescigno, Ubaldo Fabbri, and Pietro Billi, stage director David Ronis, tenor Robert Breault, and pianists Jeffrey Price and Jason Carlson.

Recognized for her artistry, versatility, and dedication, Natalia is an enthusiastic and hard-working performer eager to grow and contribute as part of a professional ensemble.
